The Trading Post is dedicated to the communities in and around Roma. All craft and artwork is sourced locally and all labour is local. The owners have created many activities and programs to work with locals such as pony trekking, entertainment and crafts. Donkeys still carry grain daily to the store with for grinding.
Full bed and breakfast, self-catering or camping can be enjoyed.
There are so many activities and tours you can do from the Roma Trading Post Guest House. Here is a sneak peak:
- Village Walking Tour: experience community homes, taste local food, visit the school and taste traditional beer at the local shebeen,
- Dinosaur Footprints: a 20 minute walk takes you to a dinosaur footprint site,
- National University and the Roman Catholic Cathedral: The Roma Valley is the most important educational centre in Lesotho, housing the National University of Lesotho, whose humble beginnings , the Pius xii Collage, date back to April 1945. You can either walk around the campus or self-drive. The Roman Catholic Cathedral is home to the buried remains of Beatified Patron Saint Gerard,
- Trading Store: Donkeys are still herded daily to the store, brining grain for grinding. Visitors can also see blanket clad horsemen who come to shop at the Trading Post. Little it seems, has changed since ‘Baseane' arrived in 1903 to establish his base shop for pioneering his trade into the blue Maloti's,
- 4x4 Trips: self drive or guided 4X4 tours available, and much more.

- Children are charged R20 per year of age between years 2 to 14 with dinner and breakfast included.
- Accommodation only is R50 per child 2-14 years old.
- Cancellations made between 15 - 30 days before arrival incur a 10% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made between 0 - 14 days incur a non-refundable 100% cancellation fee.
Cash, Bank Transfers and local and SA Cheques are also accepted.
