
Your sure footed Basotho pony will take you past the Maletsunyane Waterfall home of the world's longest abseil. Continue over mountains to reach the Ketane Valley where the Ketane Falls wait to be explored. Your last waterfall on the trek is the impressive Ribaneng Waterfall. Traditional huts offers basic village accommodation and the opportunity to interact and learn from the Basotho people. Exploring the Mountains of Lesotho on a traditional Basotho pony is an adventure not to be missed.

Itinerary
Day 1
After pick-up from the Maseru Tourist Information Office we take you on a 4x4 trip over the Thaba Putsa Mountain Range towards Semonkong Lodge.
Day 2
Have an early morning breakfast and set off on your first day by 09:00am. Your Basotho pony will be waiting as you pack your luggage into saddle bags. Your first day will take you past the Maletsunyane Waterfall on your way to Ketane Village. Your overnight accommodation is a basic traditional village hut and Georgina welcomes all guests with a warm smile. You have the opportunity to hike to the Ketane Waterfall viewpoint - hidden away around a corner, plummeting into a gorge like a well kept secret.
Day 3
You continue your adventure after a well deserved rest, heading towards Ribaneng Village through valleys and steap passes. Reaching Ribaneng Waterfall announces that you are nearing your last mountain village. Enjoy your last night in a traditional hut.
Day 4
Today you make your way down the mountains and over the Makhaleng River toward Malealea Lodge for a hot shower and good food.
Day 5
This is the last day of the tour. You make your way on public transport to your next destination.
Cancellation policy
-Cancellations must be made 14 days prior to tour date.
Children Policy
-Children must be old enough to be able to control their own horse.
-Minimum age is 12 years old.
-Children 12 and over are the same rate as adults.
Participant Guidelines
-When in the mountains we can experience four seasons in one day.
What to bring:
-Torch (flashlight),
-Sunscreen (in winter and summer),
-Sunhat,
-Your own water bottle,
-Sleeping bag,
-Your own medical aid kit, and
-Food.
-In summer bring rainwear, swimwear and a warm jacket.
-In winter your clothing must include everything warm!
-The luggage weight limit is 12.5kg per person.
-The trek is self-catering but we provide basic cooking equipment to prepare meals with. -Weight limit on the horse is 100kg.
Other Disclosures
You will need a modarate level of fitness to enjoy this tour. Please note that you will be travelling in extremely remote areas with no means of exit except on horse or foot. Accommodation in the villages in very basic.
