Morija Guest House

The village is more than a century old, Morija Guest House was constructed in 1992 and is an intriguing place to discover some of Lesotho's history. It is close to the town museum and archives as well as a craft centre. What's more, the guest house also offers trekking and pony rides accompanied by local guides (thus helping the local community).

The main guest house, built in stone and roofed in thatch, can accommodate 16 people. The cottages, meanwhile, all built in the traditional style of the Basotho with thatched roofs and decorated walls, can accommodate another 8 people.

Morija Guest House has a range of facilities and services. It is an ideal base from which to explore historic Morija with its museum and archives, craft centre, development projects and local institutions. The walks around the lakes and forest provide an ambiance of tranquillity and unspoiled nature. The hosts can also arrange for parties to sleep over in a village in the mountains, a four-hour hike or a pony ride from Morija - an increasingly popular option for those wanting to experience authentic African life in local homes.

Late check-outs are possible, subject to availability of rooms.

The cancellation policy is as follows:

- bookings made in December, on long weekends and during Easter require a full non-refundable deposit to be paid

- cancellations made between 15 to 30 days prior to arrival incur a cancellation fee of 10%

- cancellations made between 0 and 14 days prior to arrival do not receive any deposit refund.
