This tour is 2 days of exploration and unmatched scenery. We begin with a visit to the historic Good Hope Trading Store, started in 1917 by John White-Smith and a climb of the legendary Sani Pass with its tight bends giving way to magical views of the Sani Valley and Drakensberg Escarpment. You will get insights into some of the oldest geological structures in the world. The giddy heights of Africa's jewels might go to your head. At 3000m plus, the mountains are superb and so are the diamonds at Letsieng Diamond Mine! At the Roof of Africa everything seems to glisten and sparkle. You won't want to leave this mystic place, with its culture, history and natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1
08:30am Departure from Underberg.
Stop at Good Hope Trading Store before ascending Sani Pass.
View the 12 Apostles.
Enjoy Refreshements at Sani Top Chalets (highest pub in Africa).
Visit Basotho village and learn about culture.
Picnic lunch overlooking Senqu River.
Guided tour of Letsieng Diamond Mine, the highest diamond mine in the world.
Summit the highest road in Africa (Tlaeeng Pass 3.255m).
Overnight in Oxbow Lodge within a ski resort.

Day 2
08:00am Departure from Oxbow Lodge.
Summit the Moteng Pass.
Leave Lesotho via Butha-Buthe at the Caledonspoort Border Post/Clarens.
Lunch at Golden Gate National Park, South Africa.
Return to Underberg and the end of your tour.

Cancellation policy

- Cancellations are only effective on receipt of written notification.
- Cancellations made 8 weeks prior to the departure date forfeit the deposit.
- Cancellations made after the due date for full payment will incur charges.

Scale of charges (expressed as a percentage of the tour prices)
- More than 8 weeks prior - 20% deposit
- Less than 8 weeks prior - deposit plus 25%
- Less than 4 weeks prior - 50% deposit
- Less than 3 weeks prior - 60% deposit
- Less than 2 weeks prior - 100% deposit

- No-shows, failure to join the tour or departure from the tour prior to its completion receive no refund.
- Normal cancellation fees apply should your departure be postponed.

Children Policy

- Children aged 2 to 12 years old receive a 50% discount.

While every effort is made to adhere to scheduled routings, keep in mind that Thaba Tours reserves the right and may be obliged to occasionally seek alternative routes and overnight establishments as a result of changing conditions. Such conditions may be brought about by weather, road conditions, etc. Comprehensive travel insurance is a necessity when touring Lesotho, which also covers the following non-refundable deposit/final payment, curtailment, cancellation, medical expenses, personal belongings/baggage and emergency evacuation and money.
